The goal is to learn as much as possible about setting up and operating a memorial charity so we can teach others around the country to set up their own animal welfare foundations.
The Mark Sullivan Animal Care Foundation was founded in November of 2014 after the death of Mark J. Sullivan as a way to continue the memory of a beloved friend and family member by providing financial assistance to individuals and families unable to afford basic medical care for their pet family members. The love and companionship Mark experienced though his own pets over the years fostered a strong belief that everyone, regardless of their economic or physical situation, benefits through daily interaction with pets. It is this principal belief that drives the Mark Sullivan Animal Care Foundation's mission to assist those in need who live in the Louisville / Southern Indiana metropolitan area waas established.with the help required to allow pets and their owners to stay together so that they can stay together as a family unit developed.
At this time, assistance is limited to residents of Clark and Floyd counties of Indiana but it is the ultimate goal of the foundation to serve the entire Louisville metropolitan area.
